Injured Lamine Yamal Withdraws from Spain National Team Squad
Hesgoal Team 1 min readBarcelona winger Lamine Yamal has been ruled out of Spainâs two World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria because he has experienced a recurrence of his groin injury, the club announced on Friday.
The teen Spanish sensation was originally expected to be sidelined for three weeks with the injury suffered during Barcelonaâs 2-1 loss to PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday. But Barça head coach Hansi Flick has suggested the recovery might be even lengthier than anticipated.
âThis injury is not very simple, like a muscular injury. With that kind of issue, itâs hard to say can he play again in two, three or four weeks. We must wait and take it a step at time,â Flick said.
Yamalâs ousting is a huge blow to both Barcelona and the Spainn national team, with the winger being one of the standout players in European football this season.
It does mean that both the club and country will be monitoring closely Lamine Yamalâs injury, recovery and potential return date as fans look forward to some big fixtures to come.
